Digg Marketing and Traffic Generation Explained

By Colette Dillard - One of the lasting appeals of Digg is the possibility of massive exposure, but there are some caveats there. The thing about Digg is the people who are established there are dedicated to their community.

Many thousands of IM marketers have come and gone in their quest to land on the coveted front page of Digg. Most IM people stay clear of the site because they are not willing to do what is necessary to capture the traffic that is possible. In this article we will explain a couple of very important suggestions you would do well to follow.

If content was ever king and it is, then this is the site to unleash your latent content writing abilities. They are unforgiving when it comes to badly written content or topics that are just not interesting. In a very real sense you have to prove your worthiness to them before you will ever be rewarded. What you also need to do is network and be known, and that is something that seems to be a must. Give away content that's irresistible, and you'll realize that hitting the front page of Digg gets easier, and you're able to do much, much better than before.

There is a lot to find out, and you should take the time to learn the nuances. Work on presenting yourself well, and then you have to work to keep that good will toward you. But of course it takes time to build this kind of respect and admiration, and that is where many IM marketers falter. What you have to abide by is the fact that all of your content that you may want to submit has to be top flight, and there are no exceptions to that rule.

There is strength when you are willing to be personable and likeable so people will be your friends there. Mutual gains is the name of this networking game, but that is true for so many things in business. Leveraging your existing contacts this way is not a bad thing, and in fact, it's recommended. If you belong to a marketing forum, then similar dynamics are taking place - it is business networking.

Digg is a terrific place for many reasons, but you want traffic and so just implement what you have learned. We bet that you completely understand what you have to do there, and you have to take the right steps. There are no hard and fast rules with networking, and we bet you know how to network and meet people. This is how you actually end up giving real time value to your readers, and at the same time you earn a good name because of the extra exposure that you get through Digg.
