Shettles and O + 12 Method, Which One is Better?

By Kalea Anjani - Do you want a certain gender for your child? If you are diligently seeking information on the internet, I can assure that you will find a method known as the Shettles Method (SM). The method was first popularized in the 1960s and published as a book by dr. Landrum B. Shettles. But, is really this method effective? In fact, there is a method introduced by a mother who has repeatedly failed to use SM for conceiving a girl, the method is known as the O+12.

Both Shettles and O+ 12 Method has long become an interesting conversation in the Internet world, online discussion forums are always comparing the accuracy of both methods. SM has proved its existence since the 1960s, but the appearance of O+12 was triggered by the failure of a mother who repeatedly use shettles method to conceive a girl.

SM builds upon the theory of science, O +12 are found through personal experience. O+ 12 is not found by a doctor or popularized by books such as SM did, otherwise O + 12 is the shared experience of a mother through the internet, and then tried by many would-be mothers and have a very positive testimony.

What are the differences of these two methods?

1. SM was discovered and formulated by a doctor based on the results of an in-depth study and review. Popularized by a book published in 1960s and still selling today. On the other hand, O +12 was found through the experience of a mother who failed to use SM for conceiving a girl up to 5 times. O+ 12 was popular after the method was shared over the internet and got a positive testimony.

2. When shettles method provides a solution to have a boy or girl, O+12 is a special method for conceiving a girl.

3. There is a fundamental difference of these two methods if reviewed from a practical point. To be able to conceive a girl, when SM suggested to have intercourse as often as possible before ovulation, then the O+12 would suggest to have intercourse only once after ovulation is over.

Within the scope of the concept, point which becomes the difference of the two methods is on, when the right time to do the ovulation. However, although the concept of the two methods is contradictory, there is always a positive testimony to the success of these two methods.

It is a question and discussion material that would not go over, which one is the most appropriate to use according to science? There is another view that in fact, there is nothing wrong from both methods. Failure of a mother to conceive a girl using SM is because she is too fertile, so she has a longer ovulation period than ordinary women. A woman like this is more appropriate when using O+12 method.

This is a big question for us all; which method is closer to the truth of science? No one can answer for sure, it all depends on your own beliefs. Moreover, there are many methods to choose from in addition to the two methods.
